As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s position in international tourism markets, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) has been honored with the international “Global Partner of the Year” award at Trip.com Group’s conference held in Shanghai during the “ITB China 2025” exhibition.

Selected from among more than 100 partners representing the Europe and Middle East regions, ATB earned this award in recognition of its successful cooperation with Trip.com Group and effective marketing initiatives.

It is worth noting that the partnership between ATB and Trip.com Group—one of the world’s leading online travel platforms—has been ongoing since 2019. In 2024, a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding signed between ATB, Trip.com Group, and Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) further strengthened this collaboration.

Currently, the parties are working on launching a new digital campaign, taking into account seasonal travel periods and major events to be held in Azerbaijan, particularly in light of the recent visa exemption agreement between the two countries.

The Azerbaijan Tourism Board is also participating with a national stand at “ITB China 2025,” one of the leading international exhibitions targeting the Chinese tourism market, which kicks off today. The aim is to promote Azerbaijan’s tourism potential.

The national stand is represented by 12 tourism industry stakeholders, including Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and the Shahdag Mountain Resort.

Visitors to the exhibition are offered a wine tasting organized in collaboration with “Azerbaijan Wine House,” providing an opportunity to explore Azerbaijan’s centuries-old winemaking traditions. Additionally, the stand showcases the tourism potential of the Garabagh and East Zangazur regions, along with an awareness campaign conducted within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty.”

It should also be noted that in April 2025, an agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on mutual visa exemption for holders of ordinary passports.
